Fall/Winter Trend Updates
The fall is arriving in a short time, soon the coloured leaves will drift down from the tall trees and cover the ground. The moist leaves brings life the otherwise grey season. Although this season may seem quite boring and sad, it is the exact opposite. The Fall/Winter have the most influential collections, they create new trends that continues into the new year and carries on throughout the Spring/Summer as well.
Here are the trends I predict roaming the streets in the coming fall:
The Leather Jacket
The traditional leather jacket, the ruffled one or the lamb suede and coated jackets; are definitely here to stay. They’ve been in the picture for a long time, just as recently as last fall, the lamb suede and coated jacket made a comeback and resurrected from the 70′s.

The jacket can be pretty rocked out or soft, just like in this picture.
The Wedges
The wedges have been more common to see during the Spring/Summer but the two past years the wedges has been frequently been included in many fashion shows both on and off the runway. This fall’s newcomer is the sneaker-wedges. These wedges have the structure of the normal wedges, but they are sporty and futuristic. They have the details of sneakers and variety of the colours.
The Dark Coloured Lips
Finally, they’ve come back! Oh, this is the trend I’m the most excited about… I’ve had too many incidents where people have been mumbling “oh, old lady lips” and “ew, nasty colour”. Luckily, I never stopped using dark lipsticks. The elegant looking lips gives a mystic and melancholic expression, think mid-1920′s lips with cupid’s bow!

Alviero Martini’s fall/winter collection had natural makeup, but dramatic lips.
The Satchel
I suspect colours such as: dark brown, golden, plum and deep brownish-red. Including a shoulder-strap or a crossbody model will be the most common satchels.

Céline’s prefall collection includes this yummy treat, a burgundy coloured trapeze bag. I can be used as a handbag and a crossbody bag.
Velvet
The soft fabric associated with nobility will be striking the streets in dark and rich colours. I will personally look out for the gemstone coloured velvet garments.

Gucci featured both animal prints and velvet in their fall/winter collection.
Military
Hipsters has already jumped on this trend wearing camouflaged pattern on jacket and often including a grey hoodie underneath, but for us not-hipsters, the forest green colour does a remarkable job when it comes to giving a more androgynous traits to an outfit. Not only the colour but the entire “power-lady” theme is simply perfect!
Fenced in
I’m not very fond of the fenced in-patterned tuxedos, but if it is to be kept to a minimum- it will work out very well! No more to say.

Balmain managed to make the pattern look so special and delicate.
Golden and Etoupe
Golden, shimmery and glowing! Both dresses and faces will be looking like this. It sort of feels like an “2.0″ of last years it-colour: camel. Another colour you should keep your heads up for is Etoupe, the Birkin has highly requested in this colour. The colour are, in my experience, more used on handbags.

Gucci had a lot of golden details in their previous collection.

The Birkin in the colour Etoupe.
These are the trends I’ve noticed, but pretty please… Don’t get too caught up with the trends! Keep a balance between the new trends and old ones, don’t let the trends define your style. Because, fashion trends are really just re-invention of previous trends.
